GOVERNOR FLETCHER TO SPEAK AT LAKE CUMBERLAND AREA DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT MEETING

 

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher and members of his executive cabinet will attend a meeting of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District Executive Committee Wednesday to discuss Lake Cumberland and Wolf Creek Dam issues. The meeting is at noon Central time at the Lake Cumberland ADD office in Russell Springs. There will be media availability immediately following the meeting.

The Army Corps of Engineers has scheduled a public meeting IN KENTUCKY regarding Lake Cumberland/Wolf Creek Dam for Feb. 22, 2007 at 6:30pm – 8:00pm at the Center for Rural Development. The public and the media are invited.

Discussions are underway for a second meeting in early March in Russell County.

The water reduction level has stopped. The Lake has settled at 680.70.

According to the Corps’ website:

The following are Corps operated and Commercial Marina boat ramps that we believe will be usable at elevation 680 (* these ramps will be monitored closely; conditions are subject to change as the elevation lowers):

Cave Creek (approx. 15' of concrete left, then mud)

bullet

Conley Bottom Marina (campground ramp, small boats less 20'approx.)

bullet

Halcomb's Landing (small boats less 20'approx.)

bullet

Jamestown Marina

bullet

Lee's Ford Marina (launch time may be limited due to on-going construction)

Corps of Engineers Public Meeting Schedule

Location Changed, Time Set for Gallatin Meeting about Wolf Creek Dam and Center Hill Dam

 NASHVILLE, TENN. (February 13, 2007) – The US Army Corps of Engineers, Wolf Creek Dam and Center Hill Dam February 15th public meeting location in Gallatin, Tenn., has been changed. Gallatin Civic Center, located at 210 Albert Gallatin Avenue is the new location. Maps indicating areas of potential flooding in Sumner County only will be available at 3:00 p.m., and the meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and last until 8 p.m.
